Terms and Conditions

Memorandum of Understanding

This is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) negotiated between the Therapist,

Ruta Sahasrabudhe, and ‘the Client’, before the commencement of the counseling sessions. It broadly outlines the responsibilities of the Therapist towards the Client, and also the Client's responsibilities towards the counselor.

Confidentiality

Everything that is shared, disclosed, and discussed with the Therapist in the counseling session is kept in the strictest confidence. The Client’s case will not be discussed with others in any personal or public space. The sessions, whether online or in-person, are not to be recorded in any audio/visual or other format without prior mutual consent. If the therapist bonafide believes that the Client is likely to harm themselves or others, the therapist will be within her right to take appropriate measures including informing doctors of the client or in seriously aggravated cases, any appropriate third party related to or interested in the well-being of the client which may be disclosed by the client at the outset. This deviation would be resorted to only under the compelling circumstances given above, by no means exhaustive. Whenever/wherever possible, and if it is considered appropriate, the Client too shall be informed of this and this would not amount to a breach of the agreement/ confidentiality clause. Any notes or records kept during the session are for the sole use of the Therapist and will not be shared with others.

Client Therapist Boundaries

As the relationship between the Therapist and the Client will be professional, any interactions over text message or social media are not permitted unless there is an emergency. Suppose the Client happens to meet the Therapist outside of the counseling session. In that case, the Therapist will not greet the Client to protect their privacy and maintain confidentiality, unless the Client acknowledges them openly first. If the Therapist and the Client find themselves in a situation where either of them is part of the same social or professional group, serious consideration will be given to the complications of this dual-role relationship.

It is assumed, unequivocally that the Client has read the contract and understood the true meaning and purpose thereof. In case there is any sort of difficulty comprehending this contract, the Client is at liberty to have it translated before providing their signature.

By selecting the checkbox for the terms and conditions, the client acknowledges having read, understood and agreed to comply with all the stipulations outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding.
